How to configure LDAP

To configure LDAP in Qmetry Below steps should be followed:

1) Go to Admin module

2) Click on LDAP/ Active directory settings in System Setting section.

3) It will open LDAP/Active Directory setting window.

  • Host: This field should contain server’s address where active directory has been established for organization.
  • Base DN: DN stands for Distinguished Name. It is an identifier which provides unique value to each entry in directory. it is neither an attribute nor a part of the entry.
  • Bind DN: BIND is one type of operation that establishes the authentication state for a session.

There are 2 types of search available in LDAP:

            -  Synchronous

            - Asynchronous

            1)  If value is entered in Bind DN field then it will search as Synchronous. That is, whenever any request is sent to server LDAP will first do authentication by entered attribute in Bind DN and then will perform search operation.

             2)  If No value is entered in Bind DN then it will perform Asynchronous search. That is, whenever any request is sent to server, LDAP will not do authentication before searching.

  • Data Attribute :Enter attribute name from LDAP, which is go in to use for Qmetry Login.
